CALMDOWN IS THE ESCAPE ROOM OF ELISA – IRINI VIDALIS. (@calmdownmusicofficial) It is a mixture of electronica, art pop, trip hop & classic. The Greek born music producer is mainly a one-woman project,though she also appears on stage with the support of different musicians & band that lives in Berlin the last 14 years. In her live appearances, she really suck the audience in her world immediately. When it comes to her music, her lyrics tend to be symbolic and metaphoric & her music goes through deep emotions and situations that most people would deny to dig in. CALMDOWN is an artist that - through her music - can make people connect with their unconscious & her fierce, mysterious, explosive but also calm tunes & voice, lead to daydreaming. CALMDOWN & her music has been in the undergroung scene for a while now.
Lately she collaborated with music producer and Trip Hop Pioneer Howie B (Björk, Brian Eno, U2, Tricky a.m), with him doing a remix for her latest single “Seasalt Symphony”. In 2021/2023 her Project ''PRISONER K'' was twice selected and funded and gave her the possibility to finish her third part of the Trilogy - her album - ‘PINK’ (23.09.23)

Hard to believe that the young Greek woman, who has been living in Berlin since 2009, never took singing lessons or even sang in front of anybody, until a night of intoxication not that long ago. She started composing and recording with bad quality mic piano melodies when she was 14. Around the age of 17 she had her first contact with electronic sound and experimental sound. In her early 20s, she moved to Germany to explore the other half of her roots. She chose to live in Berlin, where she still currently resides. After receiving her Piano Degree in Classical Music, as well as finishing and quit her training for music composition, arrangement and orchestration she didn't touched piano for more than a year. Denying to play anything that has been played or has been covered thousands of times . Denying to let people teaching her how to make the best commercial song. In 2011 she got involved with Kulturschlund an independent artist group, which has been designing musical, literary, philosophical and theatrical events where she was experimenting mostly with sound and doing her first steps in singing Blues songs and not only. At that point her interest was mostly partying in Berlin, to meet people and having fun. After a trip in India, GOA she felt completely alone, lonely having a strong existensial & identity crisis and a depression episode. At that point she started writing again and she realises that music and writing was always her way of escaping. Creating a world where she fully can be herself at first place and not making a perfect commercial song that brings money.

She bought herself a Microkorg Synthesizer and learned how to use music programs and she starting making electronic melodies, where she after uploaded them on Soundcloud and Youtube around 2012. In 2013 she collected all the words she was writting the precious years and decided to create her first DIY – Self recorded album ''We will make it, we will win Darling'' with a limited Edition of 100 handmade CD cases under the artist name CALMDOWN that she released in 2014. The album was discovered and was announced in LIFO MAG, a local greek press in Athens, as the best album of 2014. Since then she didn't stop creating music or collaborating. She, completely independent has already produced 4 albums, 2 EP , as well as a documentary that focuses on HONESTY IN ART and a poetry book & its album which is accompanied by music. In 2016 she was the lyricist and singer for EKATI a music project between her and Robert Piotrowicz aka Vulgar Flower. Since 2012 she runs & produces everything independently. In 2018 she released her latest album ''CALMDOWN AIRLINES'' and she was nominated as best newcomer for the video of her song ''All is pretty in Berlin’', between names such Alice Phoebe lou , at the ''Listen to Berlin- Music Awards''. She has performed in Festivals, Music Showcases, Exhibitions such as Fusion Festival, Ejc Festival, Berlin Circus Festival, Wandelism Grafiti Exhibition and performed with live band  in Alex Tv Berlin Studio and also performed in private events as part of the Berlinale and opening events such as CUBE Berlin. In October 2020 her music has been featuring in the documentary ''The conscience of clothing - MODE. MACHT. MENSCHEN.’' Her Project ‘PRISONER K’ and her upcoming album ‘PINK’ was funded twice in 2021 & 2022.
